Huge Changes to the Shop and North Creek Paracord's Etsy: Bitcoin, Price Adjustments, and Item Descriptions

Noah Schalkofski

I now accept bitcoin as a payment option on this website (and upon a transaction in bitcoin, I keep it in bitcoin)! I’ve held a small amount of bitcoin for over a year and I offered it has a payment option when selling in physical locations, but now you can use your bitcoin to purchase handmade, American-made paracord products at this shop!

A large change for this website and Etsy is the complete overhaul of all my written content on all my products. Both descriptions and order instructions are much clearer about the item you’ll be customizing. The next job is to made informational images about the exact sizes of some of my items.

Lastly, some of my items have had a price increase. Most of these prices were already in place on my Etsy store. This increase in price will continue to allow me to comfortably purchase more materials to build up my material stock.

This will also let me purchase higher quality, American-made metal hardware, because most USA-made hardware manufacturers require me to buy a minimum amount (which is still a large amount with significant cost).

I like being transparent about my material sources. Here’s a list of unknown, Chinese, or otherwise non-USA-made hardware that I use in order of likelihood of being replaced:

  1. Lobster claw clasps for game call lanyard loops and key chains

  2. Swivel snap hooks for dog leashes

  3. Carabiners

  4. 1” square rings for bow and rifle slings

  5. Dog Collar hardware (D-rings and tongue buckles)

The lobster claw clasps are the most important to change because my current clasps are decent, but could be much better. The rest of the items on this list are sufficiently strong for my applications, but I would always prefer spending my money on something made with American hands.

There’s still a few days left this week to finish some projects, so look forward to those on social media and youtube!
